Race is ever-present in a transracial family with white parents and kids of color, but so is racism, stereotype and prejudice outside the home.

Spending time with individuals and families like ours was priceless. Meeting new people and sharing the common experience of adoption was great. The most important thing was that our daughter could be with other children who have lived the same things she is living.
